Episcopalians

I converted to the Episcopal church after starting rather randomly to attend services one Sunday just before Lent, and then somehow never stopping. At the end of the year, I finally decided to make the obvious decision and sign up for real. I was baptized in January of 2018, on the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord, and it was one of the most powerful experiences of my life. The Episcopal church of course is not without its challenges, but I have very much thrived there over the years, and am still just delighted to have landed here. As I have formally studied spirituality in the last few years, I have developed a strong interest in the topic of spiritual formation in an Episcopal context. My spiritual direction training is in the Ignatian tradition, and I’ve enjoyed seeing how its practices, which tend to be personal and interior, can complement the rich communal and liturgical practices that shape Episcopal sensibilities and worship. In working with Episcopalians, I also enjoy the wide variety in beliefs and backgrounds that people bring. If you are an Episcopalian looking for spiritual direction, grab your Book of Common Prayer, and let’s talk!
